Using the train
Travelling from Heathrow - use the Rail Air link. This is a bus service that picks up at the Heathrow Central Bus station and Terminals 1,2, 3 then takes you to Woking Railway station where you connect with the Gillingham Dorset train. These trains run hourly and the total journey time is 2 hours 40 minutes. A similar service operates from Terminal 5 Bus station to Woking. This journey does not work well from Terminal 4 as you have to get a bus into the Heathrow Bus station, so perhaps a few too many connections to make.
Travelling from London - start your journey at London Waterloo and take the train to Gillingham Dorset - there is another town called Gillingham in Kent so be sure to get the right one! Trains are hourly and the journey time is 2 hours.
Travelling to Heathrow - take the RailAir link from Gillingham Dorset - hourly trains 40 minutes past the hour. Alight at Woking and take the connecting bus service into Heathrow Bus station and terminals. Journey time is 2 hours 40 minutes.
Travelling to London - take the London train from Gillingham Dorset arriving London Waterloo. The journey time is 2 hours and there are no changes - trains leave hourly at 40 minutes past the hour.
For train timetables and ticket prices visit www.thetrainline.com. It’s best to purchase tickets in advance because the prices increase as the date of travel approaches. You need to book by credit/debit card and collect your tickets at the rail station using the card that you used to buy the tickets. There is also a Trainline smart phone app which you can use to purchase and hold your ticket. Its not essential to buy tickets in advance - you can always buy at the station on the day of you travel if you wish. NB the trainline hold train information about 3 months ahead - but you can always use it as a guide for journey planning.
We can pre-arrange a taxi to/from Gillingham station - or you can use a station taxi. There is a taxi rank outside the station. A booking is recommended if arriving on a Sunday.
